The Woodpecker: A woodpecker has long been on my list of birds to paint – I’m finally happy I got around to it with this Downy Woodpecker! The background of the forest is painted on stretched upholstery fabric and you can see the pattern weaving through the thick foliage. The hummingbird and tree are painted on acrylic glass. It is sealed with a clear varnish and placed together in a handmade wooden frame that is painted a metallic copper color.
