The Love Song of J. Alfred Peacock

The Love Song of J. Alfred Peacock

The Love Song of J. Alfred Peacock: A title that my high school english teacher would love, “The Love Song of J. Alfred Peacock” is named after the famous “Prufrock” T.S. Eliot poem. This peacock’s love song is in his feathers and coloring, of course. The peacock itself is actually painted on clear acrylic, while the background is painted stretched upholstery fabric. The fabric pattern infuses the piece with an undercurrent, like a beat to a poem. The clear acrylic is sealed with a gloss varnish and then the whole piece is collected together in a handmade and hand-painted poplar frame that is a gold color that ties in perfectly to the peacock. The painting measures 9.5″x11.5″ in its frame and is ready to hang. Both the original painting and prints are available on Etsy.
