Reclamation: Not far from our house is a winding road that spins between West Warwick (where I reside) and Cranston, named Natick Ave. Along this road is this little vista where you see this old rusted loader parked in the field. Time and the elements have begun to reclaim the vehicle as brush and tall grass grow around it. Parked there for years, I’ve stopped periodically to snap photos of it with the intent to paint it. That moment has finally arrived.
Painted on the underside of upholstery fabric cut from an old sofa, the reddish rust color made for the perfect base on which to paint. The painting is acrylics on stretched upholstery fabric and measures 14″x18″.
