Into the Fishbowl – It’s been a while since I’ve painted a fish!
Almost all of the paintings I paint on stretched on upholstery fabric have the subject fully painted, while the background pulls in more of the pattern and color from the fabric. This painting inverts it where the fabric itself is a golden shimmery orange, so the background is heavily covered with paint, while the fish only uses light washes to establish its form. The gold of the fish is the fabric – you can plainly see the pattern weaving through his body.
It is acrylic paint on stretched upholstery fabric and measures 12″x10″. It is framed in a handmade frame that is painted a metallic copper. The frame measures 13.75″x11.5″x1″ deep. It is wired and ready to hang.
