Cardinal and Berries: Cardinals with their bright red feathers are always so much fun to paint. This particular one really jumps out against the deep, swirling purples and teals of the background. It is painted on a combination of clear acrylic substrate (ie, the glass) and stretched upholstery fabric. It is framed in a handmade and hand-painted copper colored wooden frame and measures 13.75″x10.75″. It is wired and ready to hang.
The cardinal is painted on the clear acrylic substrate (ie, the glass) while the background is all painted on stretched upholstery fabric. The swirling patter that you see is the pattern of the fabric.
