A Day at the Beach: Painted from reference photos taken some years back at Easton Beach in Newport, RI, this painting captures my kids looking for shells in the sand on a beautiful summer day.
As I further explore my experimentation of painting on both fabric and glass, you can see how the background is on the fabric as the pattern weaves its way through the sand, waves and sky. The kids as well as the Cliff Walk are painted on the glass.
This is my largest painting so far, measuring 19.5″ x 25.5″. It’s acrylic paint on fabric and clear acrylic substrate, sealed with gloss varnish and framed in a hand-made poplar frame.
