The Yellow Rose

The Yellow Rose

The Yellow Rose – Last weekend, as I was working on this piece, I told my wife that whenever I start to feel good about my painting abilities, I should paint a yellow rose to keep my ego in check – haha. I actually gessoed over just the rose and started over. As a result, this painting took much longer than anticipated, but I am happy with how it came out. It is acrylics painted on a stretched floral pattern upholstery fabric. The design of the fabric is better caught from an angle than straight on. The painting measures 14″x14″.
