Southeast Lighthouse

Southeast Lighthouse – Block Island Southeast Light is a lighthouse located on Mohegan Bluffs at the southeastern corner of Block Island, Rhode Island. It was designated a U.S. National Historic Landmark in 1997 as one of the most architecturally sophisticated lighthouses built in the United States in the 19th century.

I painted this on an upholstery fabric that has a sort of spiral design woven into it. This pattern can be seen in the texture of the painting and I really pushed and pulled it in the sky to give the lighthouse a halo of clouds around its light.
